New Perspectives on Outdoor Furniture
Bring a considered interior sensibility to terraces while checking material suitability, storage and care.

The design perspective
An outdoor seating area can borrow the calm palette and material relationships of a living room. Woven textures, matt metal and simple cushions may sit well together. Natural-looking materials, however, are not automatically suitable for sunlight or rain. The technical information for a piece should clearly describe its intended outdoor use, surface protection and maintenance requirements.
In everyday use
Plan beyond the photograph taken on a perfect afternoon. Wind, everyday cleaning, drainage and off-season storage belong in the design conversation. A lightweight chair may be easy to move but require a different approach on an exposed terrace. Decide where cushions will go when removed and how tables will be stored. A convincing outdoor collection comes from evaluating appearance alongside the conditions in which each piece will actually be used.
